Well, we CAN argue what is and what isn't "western values". In Eastern Europe - and in Eastern Asia - there was hardly ever a "kill the infidel" propaganda, while in America and especially in Western Europe it was widely practiced.So it's rather an Eastern Value not to kill the infidels - of course, with the exception of the Middle East (and India?)...

Some bring up old eugenics arguments ofdifferences in innate intelligence of races.Sure, let's measure skulls to determine intelligibility; or perhaps we should take a lesson from atheist Rushton who says you either have a big penis or a big brain, you can't have both lol

It's ironic how on 1 hand you have atheists who talk of absolute free speech while on the other you have those wanting to deny that freedom to religious adherents. Sam Harris, for instance, supports murdering people with whose "propositions" he finds repulsive and intolerance of religion; or Dawkins with his assertion that respect for religion is bad. These sentiments, if actualized, are anti freedom. When you say free speech, then, is your goal really to just attain freedom for your side?

Lots of this arguing stems from the old myth that all men are created equal.We are not all equal - some better and running - some are smarter, etc,etc. The sooner we all accept our strengths and weaknesses and move on, the better. You can blame the deception on an over used quote from a dead American president who wasn't even smart enough to have someone watch his back.It's not racist to observe a difference between races.

The US is 1 nation. The EU is several nations. The sovereignty of a US state is hardly comparable to the sovereignty of a nation, although the Lisbon treaty is going to change that. Now, what if the UN were the body that oversaw the world? What would be the remedy for an out of control UN? The US gov't is out of control & they have no idea what to do about it. Once the UN is given the power, then we can kiss physical freedom good-bye. Every great tragedy in history seemed like a good idea @ 1st.
