i'm not trying to add to the conjecture about what caused the damage. the point is the structure collapsed consistant with its design assuming damage and or overloading in the trussed area. reguardless of the relative strength of any structural member, removing any number of them changes the static load on all the others and causes unpredictable dynamic loads.

Btw have you ever built a house or replaced a lintel even?load bearing steels are immensely strong, and it takes immense energy to cause even minor damage to one.

You make it sound like it was built on matches.Mate, have you any idea of building regs?Health and Safety law DICTATES that supporting columns must be more than substancial to support the building- they don't build upon steels that are just about substancial!Your statement doesn't explain how or why these supports lost their strength anyway?

still does not account for 47 steel columns dissapearing vertically and symetrically in syncronized fashion at freefall speed as opposed to falling in the direction of the damged side of the building...newtons third law ?

the building was built around a substation, it transferred the load around it. a large open area at the basement... right about the center. relatively few columns carrying a relatively high load... as a builder, tell me what you think after you look into how it was built

I thought that all buildings with minimal fire damage collapsed like a house built of playing cards!! ha ha ha No, seriously, The evidence is there for all to see-Penthouse goes first- indicating internal support collapse.'Crimp'- so as the building debris is contained in small area.Practically freefall collapse- no resistance.All debris broken up- failure on joints.As a builder, I can tell you that-A-Concrete does not pulverise.B-Steel does not fall apart.

NFPA 921 is a guideline to investigating fires of suspicious origin. The world saw what started the fires. Two bloody great airliners into the towers and part of one tower into WTC 7. There was foreknowledge of the collapse of WTC 7 because the fire department could see it was doomed. There wasn't time to examine the steel whereit fell. There was a fire under it that had to be put out. Extinguishment and rescue happen first, investigation as soon as feasible. Fire fiughting SOP.
