@sfiorare No they don't have to answer to anyone.. It just looks like that on the surface. The fed chairman is really chosen by the bankers. There is no conspiracy about it.. The president has no say about the monetary policy..

@xMaXiMuSx - funny, you probably think doing research means reading propaganda on the internet; i studied economics and finance for years at university and have decades of biz experience; the president does select the fed chairman nominee and congress confirms it, just like the supreme court; each of the 12 district fed bank's shares are held by member banks in that district, but the fed is controlled by the board of governors and its chairman, who have to answer to congress and the president

@sfiorare no you're wrong.. It might look like that on surface but that's not how it goes down. You can't hold shares in the Federal Reserve.. That's impossible.. It's a printing press that controlls the supply of money and fixes the interest rates. The president has no real selection as to who will be the FED chairman.. It's just a front.. Do some more research.. ..

@xMaXiMuSx - you don't know what you're talking about; the president appoints the fed's chairman; The Federal Reserve is not controlled by private banks, but by a publicly appointed board of governors. Private banks, while they may own shares in the individual Federal Reserve Banks, do not have any control over the Federal Reserve System, much like how a private individual may own shares of a large corporation, but has little say in the day to day operations.

@sfiorare no you're wrong.. The congress/president has nothing with the FED. The bankers control the fed to the benefit of all wall street and it's shareholders.. It says in the constitution that congress should regulate..

@TerrorWarrior5000 He talks common sense instead of skating around all the questions like EVERY other president in the past 40 years. I can only guess you judge him because of the title Republican. Either that or you're a brainwashed Republican that probably voted for McCain. Anyone who wants true freedem and the country to return to its previous majesty should vote for Ron Paul. Thomas Jefferson himself said a central bank is against the constitution. You gonna say he was wrong too?
Lateralus8808 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
This guys just has balls. To say what he says is very dangerous to the current system. I will always vote for him as long as he lives.
