I don't understand what the problem is in the UK. But here in Hong Kong, though the property price soars a lot in the same way as other countries do, the price of groceries didn't "inflate" too much since 1991. You could buy a kilo of vegetables at around one USD in 1991, and today in 2008 it is still the same price. There is no depreciation of buying power in here, except for housing. And such rare exception is acceptable in a normal economy. It is also a good "leverage" tool in investments.

ssang2000 , you misunderstand me , say for example if the average house in England cost £54,000 in the yr 1991 and then in the year 2007 the same house cost £184,000,it is this ever increasing profit margin {exponential} that cannot go on...The solution is an economics theorem called "ZERO DECIMAL".It calls for a readdress of all economies,and requires 4 main economical centres around the world to maintain a "controlled" state of markets.FarEast,Asia,Europe,America !

There will not be a global disaster, because China refuses to play by the American's rules. The exchange rate between a weak Chinese dollar and a strong USD is arbitrarily fixed by the Chinese government so that China could absorb as much USD into the country as possible without "leakage" of her own currency into the world system. In other words, USD is used to exchanged for buying Chinese commodities, but not for its currency. In case USA plunders, China could be a spectator watching its fall.

It still takes action and, ultimately, changes in the way members of our government act. You should send DVDs all over congress.. etc. If they wont do anything, which they wont as this action would just make them aware if their not already. Then YOU need to run for congress and get into polictics, period.
