You offer no viable alternative. A gold standard won't work with an import based economy like the US has now. "Globalization/Offshoring" killed the gold standard prospect because it makes the US fundamentally an import based economy.Oil imports would have to be eliminated first.We went off the gold standard in 1971 because of increasing imports that depleted our gold reserves. Most "money" is checkbook money, not FRNs. Direct deposit paychecks, pay by internet, etc. all are without FRNs.

You are right. How ever they "closed the club" for representation back in 1879 when they said no more than 435 members. Good by representation.
